Application of Multimedia-based Brain Gym to Improve Shortterm Memory and Decrease Anxiety in Low Average Students

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the brain gym method to increase concentration and reduce anxiety in students with low average. The sample used in this study were SMK 17 August 1945 Semarang students who had below average intellectual level criteria (CFIT 3A) and had moderate to high levels of anxiety (The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory) totaling 24 students. The research design is equivalent to the time series design. The data collection method in this study was observation, interviews, STAI tests, CFIT 3A, number series tests from Weschler. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Analysis of the data used is One Way Anova. The results of this study indicate that the brain exercise method is proven to improve the short term which is shown to be effective from the value of F = 46,775; sig. 0.000 (p < 1%) and was able to reduce anxiety in students with a low average when facing school exam pressure with a value of F = 150,509; sig.0,000 (p <1%) where after the follow-up there was a decrease in anxiety with a mean value of 25.17 compared to the mean value at baseline, which was
72.42.
